Frequently Asked Questions

Where do I find information on upcoming AMI Adolescent diploma courses?

I have already taken the Orientation; what other requirements will I need to complete the diploma?

AMI is pleased to inform you that applications for the conversion of the AMI/NAMTA 12–18 Classic Orientation qualification (up to 2019) to the 12–18 AMI Diploma are now open, until June 30th, 2024

Those interested in upgrading your Orientation Certificate to a Diploma can email a request to AMI at info@tot.montessori-ami.org

After that, it will not be possible to convert the Classic Orientation qualification anymore.

Please click this link to begin conversion.

Will the AMI Adolescent diploma be MACTE accredited?

At this time, the AMI Adolescent Diploma course is not MACTE accredited.  Similar to other training centers, MACTE accreditation will be specific to the location that the training is being offered.

Is NAMTA or Great Work, Inc. still running all of the Trainings?

No. AMI has adopted the core aspects of the AMI 12-18 Diploma Training and oversees individuals and institutions qualified to operate training. Like at other levels of Training, a prospective site goes through a feasibility process and receives approval from AMI.

Please visit the AMI website to locate opportunities near you for professional development and Montessori Training related to working with adolescents.

If I need to apply for financial assistance, who would I contact?

Each site has their own site operating budget. Please contact the training center specifically for additional information
